In 2008 we launched the SNR brand to emphasise the benefit to the environment of using our timber. Timber is carbon neutral and one of the most sustainable resources the planet possesses. As the world becomes more environmentally aware the size of our carbon footprint takes on a greater importance. The use of our timber has a much smaller carbon footprint than imported timber because of our adjacency to the markets that we service.

FSC CERTIFIED MEMBER
As part of our commitment to the environment, Murray Timber Group maintains active membership of the FSC – Forest Stewardship Council. Maintenance of this membership requires regular audits of our practices and processes and adherence to the stringent rules and regulations laid down by the FSC.

Forest Stewardship Council – FSC - is an independent, non-governmental, not for profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests. It provides standard setting, trademark assurance and accreditation services for companies and organizations interested in responsible forestry. Products carrying the FSC label are independently certified to assure consumers that they come from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations. FSC has offices in more than 45 countries.
